Jimmy James (Live In London)

lyrics

I often mention in gigs that most of my tunes are about death. Well, if not most, then a substantial minority.

As instrumental music is, for me, what happens when words stop, I tend to find myself inspired by those things that we're all particularly bad at talking about. Top of that list is death, grief and bereavement.

So I have this crop of tunes that come from that place - this one is for my friend James, who was killed in a car accident a decade ago. I still miss him. There's not really much to say about it, but every time I play the song, I get to explore what it means for him (and by association, anyone we lose through life) to be gone.
